Lets be honest: Assisted Living Facilities Photography can be a bit challenging on the best of days… but something we are becoming quite adept at. We realize that when we step though that door, this is not just another building to shoot. This is the place 20 or 30 residents call home, and we need to respect that. If we are in an open room or meal area that is being used, we make sure the people there know what we are doing and we are their friends. Because we take that time, we make better pictures with less hassle, and less impact on you and your staff.
Our approach to a photography project in an senior assisted living center is show the space. We want to show a clean, very nice, bright, happy, warm, inviting, and compassionate space, a place with a sense of community. Most times the facilities are open, so we must work around residents and their schedules. Our number one priority is not to impact the people living there. In our photographs, all the amenities and options for the residents will be right out in front. Typically, we will including dining facilities, recreation areas, indoor and outdoor living spaces, and then anything that makes that particular facility unique.
We go in depth into the actual units at the property- after all, seeing where someone will actually live is probably one of the most important thing to see for people shopping facilities, and comparing your property to others. This is where you need to stand out. Typically, we will shoot each different class of accommodations so you can show all you have to offer. If you have models, we will shoot them. Otherwise we can stage an empty room for you. We do not recommend showing empty facilities. Let us know your needs, we can make it happen for you!
Though not the focus of this specific shoot, we can also zero in on your friendly and caring staff. If you want lifestyle images of your people interacting in a caring and nurturing way with the residents, we are happy to shoot that.
As with all of our projects, our objective here was to highlight this facilities unique amenities. You need to stand apart to bring in clients, and our photography does that for you. Quality photography shows your seriousness about your role. You just need to call us up and turn us loose- we can handle the whole project for you!
One of your first decisions is whether you want to show the facilities, the care, lifestyle or all of the above. If we are showing people,. we will either need models or model releases for all people shown. If models are needed, we can assist with that.
Building shots are quite easy, and we can handle that unsupervised. If we get into lifestyle shots, we will work closely with you and the facilities director or get exactly what you need. If you offer hospice or Alzheimer’s care facilities, we would want to highlight those, too.
Just as important is what we do after the shoot. Look at our images from any other shoots- something like Architectural Photography or Lifestyle Photography. Does that fit with your expectations of finished images? We spend more than double the time of a shoot in editing. That is what really makes out images shine.
